Futsal Report Vs KISS DFC 20/05/2009

              10th May 2009

              St Vincents 19 - 1 KISS DFC

Needing TDFC to beat the Over 35s to keep us in with a shout of winning the league, we set about demolishing KISS DFC as we needed to rack up the goals to make up for the goal difference between ourselves and Over 35's in the case we were to be level on points on the last day of the season. Bolstered by the return of our captain Jason Maguire, we ran riot and notched 17 goals. We were rarely threatened and only a silly mistake from defence led to KISS grabbing their only goal. We poured forward at every opportunity to decrease our goal defect in the league.

We now go into the final match day of the season to play the Over 35's our closest rivals for the league title. We must win this match by X goals to capture the league title.

First Five: Ciarán Moloney, Colm Keogh, Sean Herlihy, Paul O'Callaghan and Jason Maguire.

Subs: Brian Daly, Alan Smith, Rino Giglione and Liam Moloney

MOM: Jason Maguire - Linked up very well with everyone
KISS DFC: All of them LOL

Futsal Report Vs Tallaght DFC 20/05/2009

              10th May 09

              St Vincents 5 - 6 Tallaght DFC

Due to the limited number of players available to him at the time of selection, Ciarán Moloney had to start a first five that did not have a sense of balance about them. Just before kick-off other players arrived but it was too late to change the starting line-up. We got off to a disastrous start, making sloppy mistakes and were 3-0 down within 5 minutes. Already by that stage substitutions were made in a bid to stabilise ourselves and get back into the game. We hauled ourselves level at 5-5 with 5 minutes to go when we won a penalty. Unfortunately much to everyone's surprise Daly sent it wide. We constantly swarmed Tallaght's half in search of that elusive winner but were caught out by a counter attack move which was finished by Jon Smyth's shot from an acute angle that squeezed past Ciarán Moloney to give Tallaght DFC their first league victory with practically the last kick of the game. It was a cruel way to finish a game but nonetheless nobody can deny Tallaght deserved 3 points after their performance.

First Five: Alan Smith, Paul O'Callaghan, Rino Giglione, Ciarán Moloney and Liam Moloney
Subs: Roy Maguire, Colm Keogh, Brian Daly and Sean Herlihy

MOM: Paul O'Callaghan- Constantly harassed TDFC

TDFC: MOM: Jon Smyth- Attacked at every chance

              Futsal Match Report::: St. Vincent's DFC 1 - 16 Over 35s 21/04/2009

              St. Vincent's DFC 1 – 16 Over 35's
              Brian Daly

Match not worthy of a report. There were only four players playing. The team were badly let down by players who were able to come in but couldn't be bothered because they were too tired/hungover/whatever.

First Five: Alan Smith, Shane Byrne, Brian Daly, Ciarán Moloney and Mr. Invisible

Man of the Match: All of the four players who never gave up despite the scoreline. The four players were totally knackered after 50 minutes of running around. The blue jerseys were absoultely quenched with sweat because each player gave it their absolute all. They did St. Vincent's DFC proud and were totally worthy of the blue jersey. Their team-mates could learn from them what it means to represent St. Vincent's DFC because they were guilty of a massive lack of respect for the club.

Futsal Match Report::: St. Vincent's DFC 9-6 KISS DFC 01/04/2009

              29th March - Matchday 2

              St. Vincent's DFC  9 - 6   KISS DFC

              (Goalscorers to be clarified)

Having cruised to a victory over Tallaght DFC who were supposed to be our nearest rivals for the league title, St. Vincent's were expected to make a meal out of KISS who appeared to be the weakest team in the league. Going into this match as massive underdogs, KISS looked to be doomed as they had no substitute which led to predictions of a cricket-score line due to presumptions that they would quickly tire running all over the much bigger futsal court than the previous one. However much to everyone's surprise they looked anything but cannon fodder. In contrast to our sluggish start, KISS got off to a terrific start with the Doyle brothers constantly running at our defence. They notched three goals without reply. We went into the break two goals behind. The players were told to be more fluid on the pitch, for we weren't moving around enough to exploit the vulnerable energy levels of KISS.

Even though KISS now had one sub who arrived late, the second half saw a marked improvement in an offensive perspective. We were still suffering from defensive lapses and made life difficult for ourselves. However we scored a terrific team goal with a sublime finish from Liam Moloney and this lifted us to no end. We gave ourselves a three goal cushion as towards the end of the match. It was a game in which we didn't play particularly well but still managed to grind out three points against KISS, who must be complimented for their spirited performance.

First five: Ciarán Moloney, Paul O'Callaghan, Colm Keogh, Liam Moloney and Rino Giglione
Subs: Jason Maguire, Roy Maguire and Sean Herlihy.

MOM: Paul O'Callaghan- Worked tirelessly in both defence and attack.
MOM for KISS: Ciarán Doyle- Ran all over the place and was KISS's biggest threat in attack.

Futsal Match Report::: St. Vincent's DFC 8-4 Tallaght DFC 13/03/2009

              5th January 2009 - Matchday 1

              St. Vincent's DFC 8 – 4 Tallaght DFC

              Maguire x 2

              Keogh x 2
              L. Moloney x 3
              Daly

In the opening match of the Emerald Futsal League, St. Vincents got off to a great start by recording an impressive victory over Tallaght. The first half was an evenly contested affair and Tallaght opened the scoring from a well excuted shot from Pat Maher. However the boys in blue started to impose their quality and maintained their tempo by rotating players from the sub's bench as TDFC started to tire as they only had one sub. The blues swiftly equalised and went into the break with a cushion of 2 goals.

However when the 2nd half resumed, Tallaght took advantage of our casual play and reduced the defict to one goal to make it 4-3 before we pulled away again and left the reds floundering as we made sure of the three points to see us sitting nicely on top of the league after the first round of fixtures.

After the match, Tallaght claimed the outcome would have been different if they had their whole squad available to them so it should make for an interesting fixture when we meet them again on the 19th April.

First five: Rino Giglione, Paul O'Callaghan, Colm Keogh, Liam Moloney and Jason Maguire

Subs: Sean Herlihy, Brian Daly, Roy Maguire and Ciarán Moloney

Our MOM: Jason Maguire-very fluid and kept moving. Showed us how good he can be when he forgets about giving out to players and concentrates on his futsal! LOL!

MOM for TDFC: Eoin Nolan. First time playing futsal and he made a couple of good saves to keep the scoreline down for his team.

              Once A Blue, Always A Blue 13/03/2009

Welcome to our new website which is being launched to celebrate the relaunch of St. Vincent's DFC!

Sadly we are no longer a football club. 3 years ago, towards the end of our 11-a-side era, it was a sombre experience to come to the harsh realisation that we were no longer able to compete as we had done in the past due to various factors, and this sadly led to the withdrawal from the Athletic Union League.

After 3 years of inactivity, it was decided to start afresh and embark upon a positive change. A change that we hope, that in our evolution into a futsal club, will serve the club many more years of success. A change that we hope will serve the Deaf community a reason to proudly identify themselves with the club once again. A change that we hope that will serve you the opportunity to fulfill your ambitions with us. But above all, it's a change we hope that will serve you the chance to stand up and be counted. Pride. Dreams. Glory.

Once a Blue, Always a Blue.
