29th March - Matchday 2

St. Vincent's DFC  9 - 6   KISS DFC

(Goalscorers to be clarified)

Having cruised to a victory over Tallaght DFC who were supposed to be our nearest rivals for the league title, St. Vincent's were expected to make a meal out of KISS who appeared to be the weakest team in the league. Going into this match as massive underdogs, KISS looked to be doomed as they had no substitute which led to predictions of a cricket-score line due to presumptions that they would quickly tire running all over the much bigger futsal court than the previous one. However much to everyone's surprise they looked anything but cannon fodder. In contrast to our sluggish start, KISS got off to a terrific start with the Doyle brothers constantly running at our defence. They notched three goals without reply. We went into the break two goals behind. The players were told to be more fluid on the pitch, for we weren't moving around enough to exploit the vulnerable energy levels of KISS.

Even though KISS now had one sub who arrived late, the second half saw a marked improvement in an offensive perspective. We were still suffering from defensive lapses and made life difficult for ourselves. However we scored a terrific team goal with a sublime finish from Liam Moloney and this lifted us to no end. We gave ourselves a three goal cushion as towards the end of the match. It was a game in which we didn't play particularly well but still managed to grind out three points against KISS, who must be complimented for their spirited performance.

First five: Ciarán Moloney, Paul O'Callaghan, Colm Keogh, Liam Moloney and Rino Giglione
Subs: Jason Maguire, Roy Maguire and Sean Herlihy.

MOM: Paul O'Callaghan- Worked tirelessly in both defence and attack.
MOM for KISS: Ciarán Doyle- Ran all over the place and was KISS's biggest threat in attack.
