Caradonagh 2-2 St. Vincents 01/02/2010
St. Vincents have worked harder than ever in training and talked about team work and pride. Which seen this match played with all this elements and so much more. 1. Roy Keating 2. Liam Moloney 5. John Smyth 4. Jamie Wilson 3. Timmy Doona 11. Larry White 6. John Green 8. Paul O Callaghan 7. Ciaran Doyle 9. Justin Smyth 10. Shane Byrne 12. Pat Maher for Larry White 13. Damien McMahon for Shane Byrne 14. Anthony Maher for Ciaran Doyle Another changed line up due to misunderstanding pre-match which influenced most of the first half. St. Vincents never turned up for 35mins of this game in which Caradonagh could have put the game to bed. they scored first goal from another long cross ball which made it to back stick in which the player turned and smashed it in bottom corner. Larry White picked up an injury which seen Pat Maher come onto right hand side. Once Again St. Vincents had a penalty turned down when seemed very spot on. So first half came and Went but only 1 nil down still had a chance to make things right. Geoff decided to change it up pushing Pat Maher upfront and Paul O C. on the left with Damien Mcmahon sitting in middle of park to gain control of the game. Which we did up the tempo commiting people forward but once again St.Vincents let down by a refs decision to give caradonagh a penalty when Roy won the ball when one on one with the player but they had gven penalty to everyone confusion. 2- 0 down St. Vincents never gave in and Caradonagh could see this which led to them being reduced to 10men after elbow on John Green. Momentous Occasion was just about to happen, Anthony Maher was summoned from the bench to replace Ciaran Doyle. Battled Cancer and now here he was Donning a blue jersey, slipped into CB with John Smyth and it was like he ws never away. St. VIncents pushed and pushed then got rewarded when John Smyth went wide pushing on to full back slid Paul O Callaghan in which he duly drove straight towards goal and rolled it across goal in which Justin knocked it in. 2-1 and the momument was with St. Vincents stretching the wide and pushing up at every chance. Once again ref played a part when Caradonagh lost another player to second yellow, Vincents put everything into it and the second always looked like coming and did so with ball up to Pat Maher which he won and tapped it onto Justin seen him wrestling with defender with an oncoming keeper he poked the ball goalwards, keeper got a touch but couldnt stop it rolling goalwards then Paul oC. hit it injust to make sure. 2-2 all and went on to create a few more chances but couldnt find that 3rd with only a few mins left. Losing trot came to anend and finally a performance St. Vincents could be proud of. Comments Comments are closed. | CategoriesAll ArchivesJanuary 2012 |
